Boudoir photography is an incredible way to celebrate yourself—your confidence, your beauty, and the season of life you’re in right now. If it’s your first time, you might be wondering: “How do I prepare for a boudoir session?” Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.
As a boudoir photographer based in Suwanee, Georgia (just north of Atlanta), I’ve guided many first-time and repeat clients through this exact process. Here’s everything you need to know to feel prepared and confident for your shoot.
Get a good night’s sleep and drink plenty of water to help your skin look fresh and glowing. Moisturize daily to keep your skin soft and smooth. Skip tanning or facials right before your session to avoid irritation.
You don’t have to wear lingerie unless you want to. Boudoir can be done in a button-down shirt, a cozy sweater, a leather jacket, a favorite dress, or even something personal like your partner’s t-shirt. Bring a variety of options. You’ll be surprised by what photographs beautifully.
Shoes and accessories like heels, boots, or jewelry can add personality. Props like motorcycles, books, or music instruments are also welcome. They make your session unique to you.
This is one of the biggest concerns new clients have but you don’t need to worry about it. I’ll guide you through every pose, adjusting as we go to highlight your best features and keep you comfortable.
Boudoir doesn’t have to be stiff or serious. We’ll laugh, joke, and create a relaxed environment where you can feel at ease. Some of the best shots come from playful, candid moments.
Boudoir is about honoring yourself as you are today. Many of us think, “I’ll do a shoot after I lose weight or change something about myself.” But the truth is, you are beautiful now. You’ll never be exactly this version of yourself again, and you deserve to celebrate it.
Located in Suwanee, Georgia, my boudoir studio specializes in empowering first-time and repeat clients alike. Whether you want soft and romantic, bold and edgy, or playful and fun, we’ll create a session that feels uniquely you.
